This attractive perennial is great for shade areas as its variegated foliage brightens up the space. Leaves are long, arching, grass-like, with yellow margins. Leaves may turn dark green eventually. Small lilac flower clusters on thin stalks appear above the foliage in summer. This plant prefers afternoon shade in warm inland valleys and medium watering. It prefers moist, fertile, well draining soil but tolerates some drought, heat and humidity. Will stay evergreen in frost free areas.
