This beautiful evergreen tree has evergreen, glossy foliage that is light green in color. The new foliage comes in with a tinted red color. Fragrant flowers appear in spring but are considered insignificant. Small black fruit appear in summer or winter. Eventually, this tree becomes quite large in size (50'-60' tall and 60' wide) so plant in an area with ample space. Bark can be dark or light gray or sometimes reddish brown. It is furrowed. This tree does best in full sun with moist, well draining soil. Roots can be destructive. This tree tolerates coastal conditions.

This tall, narrow, open tree can eventually reach 75' tall and half as wide. It has a trunk that is smooth, white and "muscular". This attractive tree has evergreen, light green, long leaves with a heavy lemon scent when crushed. Small inconspicuous flowers appear in winter. Below a temperature of 25 degrees F, the tree will be damaged by frost. Eucalyptus varieties are highly combustible. It tolerates full to part sun, preferring acidic or alkaline soil. It can become drought tolerant when established. Not frost tolerant. Psyllids may attack tree. Leaves can be used for perfume and essential oils. Wood is can be used for tools.

This Eucalyptus variety is usually an upright grower, slender and open, reaching heights of 40'-80'. It is fairly fast growing. It sheds bark annually, with the result being a satin smooth, white trunk and sometimes dappled gray. Peeling bark can be litter nuisance. Long, gray green, aromatic leaves have sickle shape. White flowers appear in winter or spring, followed by green capsule fruit appearing in spring or summer. This tree is drought and seaside tolerant. It attracts birds and bees but not deer.

This clumping perennial Iris relative stands 3'-4' high and 3' wide. It has light yellow, iris-like flowers with maroon blotches that are about 2" wide. It performs best in full sun in coastal areas and appreciates afternoon shade or complete light shade in warm, inland areas. It does best with regular watering and well draining soil. Flowers only bloom one day but another one will bloom the following day, blooming from spring through fall. Foliage is evergreen, long, thin and sword-like.
