This clumping plant with straight stems of 4-6' tall and narrow, bright green. slightly sticky, serrated-edged leaves is a favorite of hummingbirds, bees and butterflies. Small blue and white flowers appear at the top of stems from spring through fall. This salvia does best in full sun and can be controlled its spread by amount of water given. It prefers moist soil but will will spread by underground stems.

This Heuchera is believed to be a hybrid between the native Heuchera maxima and the non-native Heuchera sanguinea. The name is a little misleading as the flower is more pinkish red than it is red or cardinal. It is best used in dry shady conditions with well drained soil. Once established, it requires little care. It is susceptible to mealy bugs and root rot if it receives too much water. It grows to 18"-24" tall and wide. It looks great in mass plantings.

Globe Gilia is an annual that grows 8"-30" tall and 1' wide. Pale blue to violet-blue flowers with blue pollen rise above foliage on thin stalks in spring and summer. From far, flowers look like pin cushion globes! Foliage hovers around base and is lacy looking and narrow. This wildflower tolerates heat and prefers sandy, rocky, well draining soil. It's found on hillsides in the Pacific Northwest as well as in California mountains. Bees and butterflies love the flowers.

This groundcover will grow 1'-3' tall and wide. It felt-look, silvery gray, small leaves that densely cover the plant. Because it has a trailing habit, this plant looks great in hanging baskets and containers. It does well in full sun and dry, well draining soil. It is grown for foliage, not flowers which are considered insignificant. Established plants are drought tolerant. Be careful not to overwater.

Its heaviest bloom period is in the spring, with some flowers lasting almost all year. The plant requires sun, good drainage, and little or no summer watering. Prune it in winter to desired shape.
