Foothill Penstemon

Common name: Foothill Penstemon
Botanical name: Penstemon heterophyllus

This perennial will grow 1.5'-2' tall and 2'-3' wide. It has long slender green, deciduous foliage with blue violet colored flowers that bloom from spring through early summer. It does well in full sun and is drought tolerant once it's established. It tolerates coastal, desert and mountain areas. Do not over fertilize. It needs well draining soil. Birds love this plant too!
