Myers Asparagus

Common name: Myers Asparagus
Botanical name: Asparagus densiflorus 'Myers'

An evergreen groundcover, the 'Myers' also makes an excellent hanging basket plant when larger in size. Its formal looking fronds have an even, spiral arrangement of leaflets. It is damaged by severe frosts, and looks best with at least occasional watering.

Garden Geranium

Common name: Garden Geranium
Botanical name: Pelargonium x hortorum

Pelargonium X hortorum is a shrubby, succulent annual stemmed to 3' or more. Round or kidney-shaped leaves are velvety and hairy, soft to the touch, aromatic, with edges distinctly lobed and scalloped toothed. Single and double flowers are flatter and smaller than those of Pelargonium domesticum variety, but clusters bear more blossoms. Comes in many colors such as white, pink, red, salmon and bi-colored.

Pink Jasmine

Common name: Pink Jasmine
Botanical name: Jasminum polyanthum

This fast-growing evergreen vine features clusters of fragrant white flowers almost all year in cool climates. It does best when grown in sun to part shade.

Gold Spot Euonymus

Common name: Gold Spot Euonymus
Botanical name: Euonymus japonicus 'Aureovariegatus'

This reliable shrub can quickly reach 10' tall and 6' wide, thus used as a hedge or screen. This plant does best in full sun (even in some desert areas) but requires regular watering and more during hot summer months. Foliage is evergreen, somewhat oval shaped, yellow-centered blotches surrounded by dark green edges. It tolerates coastal conditions. Flowers are considered inconspicuous.

Bougainvillea cultivars

Common name: Bougainvillea cultivars
Botanical name: Bougainvillea cvs.

The large amount of flamboyant color on this species creates a wonderful accent in a garden. Varieties can be in bush or vine form; colors vary. Once established, they tend to be carefree. All varieties are susceptible to frost damage. The 'Barbara Karst' variety blooms bright red in full sun; more crimson if in shade. It blooms early and long.

Waxleaf Privet

Common name: Waxleaf Privet
Botanical name: Ligustrum japonicum 'Texanum'

This dense, evergreen shrub reaches 6'-8' tall and 4'-6' wide. Waxleaf Privet has dark green, leathery, evergreen leaves that make a great privacy hedge. White fragrant flowers bloom in spring and summer. Bees love these flowers! Blue black berries follow bloom season. Part of this shrub may be poisonous if ingested. It prefers full sun to light shade with a medium amount of watering, more in hot summer months.

White Bacopa

Common name: White Bacopa
Botanical name: Sutera cordata

White Bacopa is a prostrate ground cover with white flowers. It reaches 1' tall and spreads to 2' wide. This lovely plant blooms most of the year if given ample water (otherwise, flowers drop). Leaves are small, heart shaped, aromatic and heart shaped. Plant in full sun near coastal areas; provide afternoon shade or complete shade in warm inland areas. It does better in acid, rich soil that is well draining. This is a great plant for containers and hanging baskets.
